Your Contribution Matters
Your support is critical for the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute’s (GTMI) ability to maintain state-of-the-art research facilities, run workforce development programs, and facilitate the next generation of engineers and innovators.
Support GTMI
GTMI works to solve societal, technological, and scientific challenges by integrating knowledge, methods, and expertise across disciplines. Your investment will have a direct impact on supporting students, equipment, and our facilities.
At GTMI, we are driving the manufacturing renaissance in the United States by fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Your support is crucial in helping us create a future where advanced manufacturing leads to economic growth, sustainability, and global competitiveness."
– Thomas Kurfess Executive Director of GTMI
Opportunities for Investment

Become part of GTMI's expansion by supporting our state-of-the-art facilities — and exploring naming opportunities to secure your legacy at Georgia Tech. Your contribution will drive innovation and excellence in manufacturing, leaving a lasting impact on future generations.
Facility Expansion and Renovations
GTMI has invested over $58 million in its manufacturing research complex, comprising 400,000 square feet of state-of-the-art R&D facilities, including the GTMI headquarters at the Fuller E. Callaway Jr. Manufacturing Research Center building, the J. Erskine Love Jr. Manufacturing Building, the Manufacturing Related Disciplines Complex, and the Applied Manufacturing Pilot Facility (AMPF).
Expanding our Advanced Manufacturing Pilot Facility
GTMI recently won a Build Back Better Regional Challenge grant that is helping to fund strategic projects to reinvest in American communities and U.S. manufacturing. There is a renewed focus to boost domestic manufacturing, advance manufacturing prowess, and help train a new generation of workers. While the grant is accelerating Georgia Tech’s infrastructure growth, an additional $4 million in supporting funding is sought to aid in construction and renovation costs that are not covered by the grant.
Updating the Callaway Manufacturing Research Center Building
Dedicated in 1991, the Fuller E. Callaway, Jr. Manufacturing Research Center (MARC) is a major research facility dedicated to innovations in manufacturing processes, applications, and solutions. At more than 30 years old, the building will require $3 million in renovations. It serves as the home of GTMI research labs, faculty offices, and classroom/meeting space.
Equipment Donations
GTMI is dedicated to providing cutting-edge technical capabilities to our faculty, students, and research partners. Our world-renowned facilities are highly sought after and accessible to both internal and external users. However, continuous support and modernization are essential to maintain and enhance these facilities. If you are an equipment vendor interested in integrating your tools into our facility, you can potentially uncover new and innovative applications and process flows, as well as broaden your reach with our industry and academic partners.
Fostering Leadership
Director’s Chair Endowment Opportunity
Given the interdisciplinary nature of GTMI, strong leadership and vision are required from its executive director. Establishing a permanent endowment to support GTMI’s executive director will help ensure that Georgia Tech is able to attract and retain leaders to address critical areas of manufacturing and strengthen future manufacturing challenges.
Graduate Fellowship Endowment Opportunity
Given the need for technological advancement in the U.S. manufacturing ecosystem, next-generation engineers must be educated to ensure success. Support for such students at GTMI will ensure that we continue to produce well-trained individuals who are capable of leading advanced manufacturing efforts in the U.S. and throughout the world.
