The Manufacturing USA Network

The Manufacturing USA network was created in 2014 to secure U.S. global leadership in advanced manufacturing by connecting people, ideas, and technology. Comprised of 18 Manufacturing Innovation Institutes (MIIs), the institutes are sponsored by federal agencies, including the Departments of Commerce, Defense, and Energy.

Through GTMI, Georgia Tech plays a pivotal role in the Manufacturing USA network by participating in nine of its 16 MIIs. Each institute focuses on a specific advanced manufacturing technology, bringing together private-sector companies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders to collaborate on research and development, application testing, and workforce training. This collaboration reduces the risks associated with deploying new technologies and strengthens domestic manufacturing supply chains. By fostering centers of technological excellence, accelerating product commercialization, and revitalizing the national economy, Georgia Tech and GTMI are advancing American manufacturing and reinforcing U.S. global leadership.
